The first thing dancers notice is the heel support and cushion the moment they put the shoe on. When I was dancing professionally with New York City Ballet, I dealt with plantar fasciitis like many dancers do, and I kept thinking: the ballet slipper hasn't really changed in over a century, so why are we still accepting that pain is "just part of the job?" That question is what led to ORZA's patented shock- absorbing technology.
The moment you put on a pair, you feel the difference first - there's a responsiveness there that traditional slippers just don't have. Dancers tell us it changes how confident they feel going into jumps, because the shoe is finally doing some of the work their body used to have to absorb alone. I think that's what will shift expectations.
Dancers have been trained to think discomfort is just part of technique. Once you've danced in a shoe built to support you rather than just cover your foot, it's hard to go back to thinking that way. That's the change we're hoping UK dancers experience the first time they put ORZA on.

The truth is, a ballet shoe is one of the most demanding performance shoes in existence. It just hasn't been treated that way.
